So, I’ve noticed a trend for area Chinese restaurants to either close down or expand change their menu from Chinese dishes to a more pan-asian menu (sushi-thai). I’ve already been disappointed by the slew of Chinese restaurants in the greater Raleigh area that have undergone such a change (for the worse).
Alas, one of my fav restaurants, Neo-China (Cary, off of Maynard and High House) seemed to have caught this bug. Neo-China used to be THE place for DIM-SUM. I’m not sure what exactly happened, whether it is under new management or they just decided that sushi-thai was more profitable. It seems that most of the staff has changed too. The place is now called Neo-Asia (the work that they did to the exterior sign looks unprofessional, since they just removed the -China and the letters to the word -Asia are in a slightly different font). Whatever the deal, I’m not all that excited about the changes, the deterioration in quality of the food and service.
